EXTENSION FUN!
If you have completed your work this week and want something fun to do that is Art related...then look no further! Mrs Thompson has been setting these fun tasks for some of her classes, so feel free to choose one of them.
#1 TOILET ROLL ART...yes really!
Find the inside of a toilet roll tube and make your mark on it...be creative and use whatever materials you have to hand. These 2 are Mrs Thompson's attempts...can you tell what they are?
#2 GOOGLEY EYES
The Thompson household had a lot of fun trying out this one! If you have any plastic googley eyes, then have a look around your home or outsdie and take photos of them stuck on things...the funnier the better! If you don't have googley eyes, then draw some on a scrap bit of paper and cut them out - they will stick with a bit of rolled up tape or blue tack. Take photos and have a giggle!
#3 Family Crest
Think of all of the things (food, hobbies, sports, loves, holidays, skills, race, religion etc.) that make up your family and design a family crest or shield that represents you all. Google the Hogwarts crests from Harry Potter and football team badges for inspiration! You could draw this, paint it onto a cardboard shield shape or use a digital drawing app to design it. This is Mrs Thompson's example - can you tell what her family enjoys and is good at?
#4 Make something 3-D
Today's fun task is to make something...anything...3-D. You can make anything (a face, vehicle, figure, animal, food, jewellery, clothing, accessories, furniture, toys...etc.) and you materials you could use might include:
- Lego
- Cardboard or junk materials
- Paper mache
- Salt Dough, playdo or air drying clay (there's a salt dough recipe below)
- Natural materials (like twigs and leaves)
- Food
- Wire, beads, polymer clay
- Fabric
- Wood
- Anything else you can lay your hands on (as longas you have permission!)
#5 DISNEY!
Who doesn't (secretly) love a bit of Disney? Well, quite a lot of you I suspect, as Disney+ subscriptions have risen by nearly 50 million users since the start of the year!! So, this Friday fun is to draw, paint, make your favourite Disney character - if you don't want to draw, you could use Minecraft or Lego, knit something or make a flip book animation!
I chose Rapunzel from Tangled as it is my all time favourite Disney film...I love the paintings she does on her tower ceiling and it always makes me cry :-)

#6 Be an Art Activist!
The artists Bob and Roberta Smith produce colourful poster like pieces of Art work that are famous all over the world. They only use lettering and often make bold and challenging statements about life with their Art. My favourite is the one that says "Art makes Children Powerful"...I wonder why?! Search up some more examples of their art, then answer the question in the piece featured below in the same style as Bob and Roberta Smith. You could use felt tip pens, pencils or paints, an app on a tablet or even make a giant poster on some scrap cardboard! Have fun and make a statement"
